The Workshop on Documentary Photography, organized by Gono University Photographic Society and GSVMC Photography Club, is designed for students who are interested in understanding photography as a tool for storytelling and real-life documentation. This workshop will focus on the core concepts of documentary photography, including how to observe everyday life, capture meaningful moments, and present stories through images with purpose and clarity. Participants will gain practical insights from the instructor, along with guidance on improving composition, perspective, and visual narrative based on real examples.
The session will be held on Thursday, 26 June 2025, at 1:00 PM in Room 206, A Block, Academic Building, Gono University. Students from Gono University, Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College, as well as students from nearby educational institutions, are welcome to participate. To ensure a focused and organized learning environment, participation is strictly limited to registered attendees only, with a registration fee of 50 BDT. The registration deadline is 26 June 2025 at 11:59 AM.
During the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to submit their own photographs for review and receive direct feedback from the instructor, helping them understand their strengths and areas for improvement. Attendees will also get a chance to join a photo walk with the GSVMC team, allowing them to apply what they learn in a real-world setting. Each participant will receive a certificate upon completion, along with refreshments. Participants are requested to bring a notebook, pen, and their own device, either a camera or a smartphone, to make the most of this interactive learning experience.
